As they age, they can leak. Signs of leaking could be a spike in your water bill, low water pressure, cracks in the foundation, foul odors.

How can I check for a water leak?

Find and record the water meter level. Make sure no one is using water for 1-2 hours. Check the meter level and see if it has increased. If so, call a professional plumber.

What shouldn’t I put down my garbage disposal?

Potato skin, bone and egg shells, fatty foods, grease, banana peels, popcorn kernels, fruit pits, seeds, stringy vegetables are just some things you shouldn’t put down your garbage disposal.

How can I clean my garbage disposal?

Baking soda and hot water, as well as ice cubes. Lemons also make it smell good.
